About Michelle
I enjoy working with a variety of populations and advocate for all people to experience the benefits of massage and bodywork. I use a blend of mainly Swedish massage, connective tissue techniques, and manual lymph drainage in my sessions.
I started my career in massage therapy wanting to help children. I trained with Tina Allen and the Liddle Kidz Foundation and became a Pediatric Massage Therapist, Infant Massage Teacher and Pediatric Oncology Massage Therapist.
In addition, I love the work I do with pre and perinatal people and had the privilege to train with Carol Osborne of Body Therapy Education.
Later in my career, I added Manual Lymphatic Drainage to my toolbox. I trained with the Academy of Lymphatic Studies and later became an instructor with ACOLS, providing MLD certification classes to therapists around the country. MLD has opened up a whole new dimension of my work with my clients. From post surgical recovery to deep relaxation, I see the incredible outcomes daily, including my work in Oncology Massage.
For the last 7 years, I have worked as the director of education at an entry-level massage school. I set out to bring awareness to students about working with different populations and how rewarding it can be. I am a proponent of education and aim to always be refining and developing my own skills while encouraging others to pursue more knowledge. I invite my clients to conversations about the body and bodywork.
In my spare time, I love spending time with my husband, son and our 2 dogs. I usually have a jigsaw puzzle going at all times and I will drop everything to go to an Aqua Zumba class.
